Conceptions of Infectious Disease Infectious Disease Contagious Disease Communicable Diseases Reciprocal reaction between pathogen and human body. Communicable Diseases are referred as the diseases with infectivity and epidemic, which occur after infected by pathogenic microorganism and parasites. e.g. SARS, Avian influenza. Infectious Diseases are all of ones infected by pathogen including both communicable and non communicable diseases, e.g. bacterial abscess. Conception of Infection various situations: Infection: the process of reciprocal reaction between pathogen and human body with lesion to some extent. Commensalism(共生): the balance between pathogen and host body without any lesion. e.g. slow virus disease. Opportunistic infection: pathogen could cause disease whenever the host protection system is damaged. e.g. AIDS, the organism in commensalism can cause the disorders. Conceptions involving in Infection Infection in various situations: Primary Infection : first infection Reinfection: infected by same organism again : Coinfection: infected by two kinds or more of organisms simultaneously. Superinfection: overlap-infected by organism else based on primary infection. e.g. HBV plus HCV Secondary Infection: infected by other organisms following primary infection. e.g
