APPENDIX 2 - Engagement QA Partner Roles and Responsibilities
The following summary is intended to assist the Engagement QA Partner’s review of his/her roles and responsibilities for fulfilling the quality assurance function. These activities are intended to be carried out in conjunction with the roles and responsibilities of the engagement team.
The QA checklists referenced below immediately follow this appendix.
I. Understand Client Wants/Needs
All engagements rated high or maximum risk require an Engagement Quality Assurance (EQA) partner. The specific role of the EQA partner on each engagement will differ as agreed to by the EQA partner and engagement partner. However, the engagement partner and manager must consult with the QA partner on each engagement to consider whether we have:
A clear understanding of the needs and expectations and if these have been effectively communicated in the proposal
Assigned personnel with the right skills to be successful
Identified the key client personnel
Proposed an effective communications strategy
Objectively considered all the engagement risks and developed an effective risk management action plan
Depending on the size of the engagement, the EQA partner may attend project status meetings, client presentations, and other key meetings with the client.
