Module 6 Vocabulary and Reading
Teaching aims(教学目标)
Students should be able to master the new words, phrases and grammar points.
Students can use their reading skills to get the main idea and understand the detailed information about Beijing Man and Zhoukoudian.
Students develop an awareness of protecting cultural heritage and take measures to protect the endangered heritage.
Important and difficult points(教学重难点)
Help students to master the grammar: subjunctive.
recommend/ suggest/ propose/ request that …(should) do…
Help students think of what they can do to preserve Beijing Man heritage site.
Teaching procedures(教学过程)
Step1: leading-in
Ask students a question: Do you like traveling?
Show students some pictures about my trip to Qufu and Mount Tai, and introduce the cultural heritage sites in Shandong province.
Ask students to give me some recommendation if I go to Beijing, and introduce the heritage sites in Beijing.
Show students a picture of a skull, and ask them to guess the heritage site.
Step2: Reading:part 1 The Amazing Caves of Zhoukoudian
Task 1: Read part 1 and find out what happened in the following years.

Task 2: Read part 1 and finish the T/F questions .
1. The first thing that was found at Zhoukoudian was three teeth.
2. Finally, archaeologists found over 200 items.

4. More than 5% lived to the age of 50.
5. The Beijing Men led a sophisticated life. Find out some examples.
Step3: Reading:part 2 Beijing Man Heritage Site in Danger
Task 1: Read the first 3 paragraphs and answer the questions.
