Unit 1 Do you collect anything?

Teaching aims:
1.Knowledge aims
New words: collect, tidy, doll, fan, stamp, least, interview
Phrase:tidy up, take up, all the time, be interested in

Be able to talk about hobbies.

Everybody should have healthy and active hobbies.
Focal points and difficulties:
Use the simple sentences to talk about hobbies.

一自学感知
1. Talk about hobbies:
Show some pictures about people and their hobbies
What does he/she like doing?
He/She often …
So his/her hobby is…
Then let students ask and answer in pairs:
What’s your hobby?
When did you start doing it?
Do you think it is a good hobby?
2. Help the students to learn the new words.
二研讨探究
1. Listen to part 1
List the hobbies of the family members’.
In this way show the new words “stamp, doll, fan”.
Complete the chart.
Listen again and answer the questions:
Why does Tony’s mum want him to tidy up his room?
Whose hobby is expensive?
Which hobby do you think takes up the least space?
2. Listen and answer:
What does Lingling collect?
What’s Sally’s real hobby?
3. Read the dialogue and do Part 4
4. Read and show
Let students talk about language points in the dialogue
1) a bit untidy
2) tidy up
3) a collection of dolls
4) listen to him play the violin
5) at the end of this term
6) give an interview on Starsearch
5.Finish Part 5
6. Work in pairs. Make dialogues about your hobbies with the help of Part 7
