Teaching aims analysis
First, knowledge aim: students are required to describe what they will do on Mid-autumn Festival .
Next, ability aim: students can use the target language to talk about any Festival that we get together, and what we will do on this Festivals.
For emotion aim: try to care for parents, care for others.
Teaching importances and difficulties:
Describing what they will do on Mid-autumn Festival in English is very important.
Use the target language to talk about any Festival that we get together, and what we will do on this Festival may be difficult.
Preparation:PPT, cards, form.
Teaching steps:
Step 1: preparation
Greetings: Good morning!
How are you? Play a guessing game: What’s he going to do?
Then we will have a free talk like this “Look, this is our friend. Who’s he/she? … Do you have any questions? where is he going? ... is going to the hospital. Why? Why is he going to the hospital? Because he’s ill. How is he going there? He’s going by bus.
Step 2: Presentation
In this step I want to creat a situation like this:
I will show a picture and ask: What is Miss Guo going to do?
She will eat mooncakes. Do you know which Festival is it?
Mid-autumn Festival.
Great. Do you know other festivals you will get together with your family? Christmas , New Year’s Day and so on.
Now let’s share a diary story of festival, which festival is it?
Step 3: Practice
Pre-reading
Before listening to the story and ask three questions to the ss.
Q1:Which festival are they going to have?
Q2:What’s Wu Yifan’s aunt going to do?

While-reading
Watch the vedio and check the answer.
Listen and follow the vedio, then try to retell the story with missing words.
Encourage ss try to ask some questions about story.
