Text Analysis:
[How] The first paragraph explains the importance of the writing system of Chinese characters for the inheritance of Chinese civilization; the second and third paragraphs introduce the development and history of Chinese characters; the fourth, fifth and sixth paragraphs elaborate the role of Chinese characters as a connection between people and culture, the past and the present, characters and art form, China and the world.
[What] By focusing on the theme of Chinese character writing system inheriting Chinese civilization, this paper introduces the development history of Chinese character writing system and its important role as a link.
[Why] The focus of this paper lies in its profound cultural connotation. The value orientation of this paper lies in students understanding of the important value of Chinese characters, learning Chinese history, inheriting Chinese civilization, spreading Chinese culture, enhancing cultural confidence and national pride.
Activity Design:
Activity 1:Though picture observation and text content guessing, students reading interest shall be greatly stimulated.
Activity 2: Help students sort out the text content and clarify the main idea of each paragraph.
Activity 3: Combine the teaching process with the reading strategy of this unit, guide students to pay attention to the timeline in the text, and grasp several key periods of the development of Chinese characters by specific words in the text.
