Unit 1 How many?
Analysis of Teaching Material
The teaching material is taken from module 8 ,Unit 1,Foreign language teaching and research press. In this unit, Ss’ main task is to learn the numbers of one to ten. Ss are familiar with the pronunciation of those numbers. Most Ss can count. But the don’t know the relative English words. It’s difficult for them to match the numbers with the right words. But that’s what’s important. It’s the focal and difficult points in this unit. Besides, some words are difficult to pronounce correctly. Such as three, eight, five and so on..
Teaching Objectives
By the end of this lesson, the Ss should be able to
Instructional objectives
Read one to ten correctly;
Know the meaning of “how many?” and “count and say”;
Educational objectives
Use the numbers to count in their daily life;.
Personal objectives
Develop their interest in English through playing games;;
Focal points
Every student can count from one to ten;
Every student can use the sentence structure of “How many? ” to ask questions;
Most Ss can match numbers with the right words.
Difficult points
The following words are difficult to pronounce:three, five, six and nine;
Matching numbers with the right words are a little bit difficult for students.

Teaching procedures
Step 1 Greetings!(1mins)
T: hello!boys and girls! How are you?
S: I’m fine. Thank you. How are you?
T: I’m fine ,too. Thank you.
(The teacher says hello to Ss warmly and gives five to Ss.)

T: ok, to begin our lesson today. Let’s sing a song! Show me your hands. Let’s sing together.
