Methods The sample coisted of 2 groups. The subjects in the fit group (n = 30) had complete normal dentitio including third mola; those in the second group (n =30) had impacted right and left third mola. The sagittal inclinatio to the palatal plane of the fit and second maxillary mola were measured on panoramic tomography. The U test was used to compare mean angular values between the 2 groups. Spearman correlation coefficients were calculated to assess the relatiohip with age. Results Maxillary fit and second mola were more mesially inclined in the fit group, particularly in the younger subjects (16～25 yea). This inclination increased with age. The logistic regression showed that the sagittal inclination of the fit molar is a predictor of the eruption of the third molar. Conclution More mesially inclined maxillary mola are likely to be associated with third molar eruption. 【Key words】 third molar；impaction；axis inclination 在人类进化过程中，下颌骨与牙齿之间发生了不平衡退化，导致牙齿发生先天缺失或者阻生的现象，而第三磨牙的先天缺失率最高，即使存在，也可能萌出不全导致阻生。在所有阻生牙齿中，第三磨牙的阻生所占比例为98%［1,2］。不同个体之间第三磨牙的萌出时间相差较大，从16～24岁不等。 有些学者认为第三磨牙萌出的近中分力是前牙排齐后复发的一个重要因素，故建议早期拔除。但是这种预防性拔除是否有利，还值得商榷。目前，国内外很多学者对下颌第三磨牙的阻生情况进行了比较详细的研究，但是对上颌第三磨牙的研究却很少［3，4］。以往观点认为，第三磨牙的能否萌出与可用间隙有关，可用间隙是在X线头影侧位片或曲面断层片上从第一磨牙冠的远中面到下颌升支前缘垂直于牙合平面直线间的距离［3，5，6］。但是新近研究又对可用间隙作为第三磨牙阻生和萌出预测因子的临床重要性提出了质疑［7］ 本研究的目的就是在曲面断层上确定上颌磨牙的轴倾度与第三磨牙萌出情况的关系。 1 对象与方法 研究对象 所有的研究对象(总共60例，26例男性和34例女性)均来自山东大学口腔医学院正畸科，都具有完整的正常牙列，在数量、形态、大小和位置上没有异常。把所有的研究对象分成两组，第一组有30例(平均年龄岁，从17～34岁)，具有完整的正常牙列，包括萌出或者正在萌出的第三磨牙。第二组有30例（平均年龄岁，从14～36岁），左右两侧第三磨牙阻生。第三磨牙阻生的标准是牙根已经完全形成，冠的最高点位于第
