How to be successful in a new environment?;Look at the text and think about why some of the words are blue.;Scan the topic sentences quickly and answer:;Read the text. Answer the questions.; Do you agree with the writer? Which suggestion do you think is the most important? Give reasons. What other suggestions would you add to the list?;1. Moving to a new working environment, you may need to deal with things that don’t belong to your own field.;e.g. Jim hurt his arm playing tennis (= while he was playing tennis). While trying to open the door, I cut my hand.;2. It is important that you have a clear vision and a working plan to achieve it. vision n. [C] an idea of what you think something should be like 构想,设想,念头 e.g. He had a clear vision of how he hoped the company would develop. 他对自己希望公司如何发展有清晰的设想。 [U] ability to see 视力 e.g. good / normal / poor vision [U] the area that you can see 视野 e.g. Jane blocked Crosss vision and he could see nothing.;3. Also, treat your team members respectfully as equals. respectfully adv. in a way that shows you want to be polite or honour someone 恭敬的;有礼貌的 e.g. The audience clapped respectfully as she stood up to speak. 当她起身发言时,观众们满怀敬意地鼓掌欢迎。;Write a short paragraph, stating if you agree with the writer’s suggestions.
