Forming scientific learning methods and exploring habits, Raising awareness of teamwork ; Developing open ideology to accept the excellent culture of the world The student is the subject of reading ; teachers should do to guide and help them Analyzing Teaching Material The central topic of this unit is about Nelson Mandela-a Modern Hero .This is a familiar topic for students, because the majority of students have heard of his name. Therefore, the teacher should lead the students not only to look deeply into his life and some details of his personality and great qualities but to master some main languages points and use them freely. Besides that, the teacher should give emotional education to arouse students’ sense of social responsibility. Students’ Academic Degree of Analysis Although students have learned 4 units, the basis of most students is not strong enough ,the reading skills, such as, prediction before reading , scanning, skimming, identifying keywords, summarizing the main ideas, analyzing long sentences and details of information, are still in the formative stages . And their ability to use English is still poor especially in communicative activities.
