Unit 12 The five peas 教学设计
Teaching Aims:
Knowledge aims:
1. Students are able to listen, speak, read and write the words: peas, pod, bullets, bigger and bigger.
2. Students are able to listen, speak and read the sentences: We’ll soon see the world.
3. Students can understand the main idea of the story.
Ability aims:
1. Students can use the words and sentences correctly.
2. Students can read the story fluently and emotionally.
3. Students can talk about their dreams.
Emotional aims:
1. Students can be able to raise their interests in English.
2. Students can be able to strengthen their consciousness of cooperation.
3. Students can learn to be hopeful and useful.
Important and difficult points:

1. Students can understand and speak the new words.
2. Students can learn to talk about their dreams.
Difficult points:
1. Students can read the story emotionally and fluently.
2. Students can retell the story according to the mind map.

Teaching Procedures:
Step 1 Pre-reading:
1. Greetings
2. Guessing game:
T: Today I bring you something new. Listen carefully. Can you guess? Teacher shakes the bottle with peas in it.
3. Talk and say: Where can you see the peas? T takes out a pod and teaches “peas” “pod”.
T: Will they live in the pod forever? They are normal. You can find them everywhere. But they also have their dreams.
4. Read and predict: A. read and answer: What was the dream of the peas? B. bigger and bigger C. Prediction: Did they leave the pod and see the world? Would
their dream come true?
Step 2
