Essential English, also known as Basic English, is an English-based controlledlanguagecreatedbylinguistandphilosopherCharlesKayOgdenasaninternationalauxiliarylanguage,andasanaidforteachingEnglishasasecondlanguage.BasicEnglishis,inessence,asimplifiedsubsetofregularEnglish.Nevertheless,BusinessEnglishisEnglishlanguageespeciallyrelatedtointernationaltrade.ItisapartofEnglishforSpecificPurposesandcanbeconsideredaspecialismwithinEnglishlanguagelearningandteaching.

AsforalinguisticformofEnglish,BusinessEnglishisaffiliatedwithEssentialEnglish,butitwouldbeerroneousnessifwefailtorecognizetheobviousfeatureofBusinessEnglish.

Firstofall,theinternalconnectionbetweenBusinessEnglishandEssentialEnglish.Business English reflects the ability of communication, in other words, it’s aprofessionalEnglishusedforsomespecialoccasions,whichisabranchofsocalledparticular application English.(1)The two have the same essence. Though theBusinessEnglish,tosomeextent,hascertainspeciality,it’sstillakindofEnglishaswellastheEssentialEnglish,andtherefore,theyareconsistentinthefieldofEnglish.(2)BusinessEnglishderivesfromEssentialEnglish.It’snotonlyanapplicationinbusinessoccasions,butalsoachangeofEssentialEnglishtofittherapidgrowthofmodernbusiness.(3)The masterof Essential Englishis the premiseof BusinessEnglishlearningandteaching.Asisknowntousall,theaimofBusinessEnglishlearningandteachingis thetrainingoflanguageability. Inaddition,thistrainingisalwaysfollowingthelawofeasytodifficulty,that’swhyEnglishlearnershavetostudyEssentialEnglishfirst.

Ontheotherhand,therealsohavebeendifferencesbetweentheEssentialEnglishandBusinessEnglish.Firstly,theexpressionformofthetwoisdifferent.Becauseof
