eagerlyawaitedastheyrepresentthecurrentstatusofsimulationtechnologyandpermitrevealingcomparisonsween

individualmethodsandsoftwarepackets.

ForthefirsttimeinMWEEbenchmarkshistoryanantennaproblemwasset.ThebalancedVivaldiantennaposedaworthy

challengetothebenchmarkparticipantsduetoitscomplexformandsize(Fig.1).TheCADbenchmarkwaspresentedinthe

October2000editionofMWEEandresultsfromsixcontributorswerepublishedinthesubsequenteditionswiththemeasured

resultsendingtheseriesinFebruary2001.

Thecomparisonweenthepublishedmeasuredandsimulatedresultsfromallsoftwareproducersrevealedsignificant

differences.NopossiblereasonforthisstrikingdiscrepancywasputforwardbyMWEE.CSTcalculatedtheVivaldistructure

withgreatdiligenceand,havingcarriedoutadetailedconvergencestudy,considerourresultstobehighlyaccurate.
