EuropehasbeenastrongforceinroboticsbutitisstartingtofallbehindChinaandtheUS.Roboticsinvestmentgrewbyalmost+230%over2019-2024andthemarketispoisedtooutpaceUSD100bnby2030.Chinahasbecomethelargest

consumerofrobotsbyfar,accountingfor51%oftotalannualinstallationsof

industrialrobots,anditsroboticindustryisgrowingsteadily.TheroboticsindustryinEuropeisatriskofdisruptionfromincumbentssupportedbystrongindustrialpolicies,andnewplayersemergingfromthetechecosystemamidtheAIfrenzy.Asroboticscoulddeliverincreasedproductivity,helptoaddressEurope’s

demographicchallengesandprotectitsindustrialsovereignty,theregionshouldactnowtoavoidfollowingthefateoftheautoindustry,leaningonfivelevers:

1.DevelopandimplementaEuropeanroboticsroadmap.Europeneedsa
