Attenborough,whoreceivedadegreeinnaturalsciencesfromCambridgeUniversity,joinedtheBBCfull-timein1952.HetravelledaroundtheworldwithhisZooQuestprogramme,highlightingdifferentcreatures.Afterwards,hecreatedhisiconicseriesLifeonEarthin1979.Sincethen,hehascreatedandstarredincountlessprogrammeswhichhavebroughtnatureclosertoviewersaroundtheworld.

HisdocumentarywithWorldWildlifeFund,DavidAttenborough:ALifeonOurPlanet,oftenreturnstoathemewhichhaspredominatedinAttenboroughslaterwork.Hereflectsonjusthowmuchtheenvironmenthaschangedinhisdecadesofobservationandhowswiftlytimeisrunningoutbeforefurtherseriousdamagecanbeprevented.Thisprogrammewaswidelystreamedandconsidereda“wakeupcall”fortheworld.WhileAttenboroughisfarfromthefirstoronlyvoicetoraisethiscall,hisreachasarespectedandpowerfulfigurewithintheBBCprovidesausefulplatform.

Althoughhehasreceivedcountlessawards,Attenboroughhasusedrecentaccolades(荣誉)asachancetofocusoncemoreontheplanet.ShortlyafterwinningtheChampionsoftheEarthLifetimeAchievementAwardin2022,hesentanurgentmessageaboutthestateoftheplanettoallviewersinFrozenPlanetⅡ.Evenafterhis97thbirthday,hecontinuestowriteandspeakonpreservingtheUKandthe
