ThisstandardisissuedunderthefixeddesignationF1988;thenumberimmediatelyfollowingthedesignationindicatestheyearoforiginaladoptionor,inthecaseofrevision,theyearoflastrevision.Anumberinparenthesesindicatestheyearoflastreapproval.Asuperscriptepsilon(e)indicatesaneditorialchangesincethelastrevisionorreapproval.

Scope

TheseperformancerequirementsestablishnationallyrecognizedperformancerequirementsforClassA(residential)andClassB(nonresidential)plasticchaiselounges,withorwithoutmovingarms,withadjustablebacks,intendedforoutdooruse.

Theperformancerequirementsarenotapplicabletoupholsteredchairs,orothertypesoffurniture.

Theseperformancerequirementscovertheperformanceoftheproductregardingaspectsofoutdoorweathering,impact,staticloadforseatandback,andarmtesting.

Productsmaybemanufacturedfromrecycledplasticsaslongastheperformancerequirementsaremet.

Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.
