* 20 * * * 20 * * The Business Improvement Team (BIT) must be the “champions of change.” This is an active role that “leads and drives,” not “steers and reviews.” It is the BITs responsibility to assure process improvements are captured in the bottom line. Each BIT member may be responsible for a subordinate cross-functional or barrier removal team. * * Implement AIP starts control by: Understanding AIP’s and processing speed Determining new methodology for evaluating and prioritizing projects (AIP’s) Improving process for resource allocation Start with a list of all the major action items: Establish a process for assigning priority. This may be a combination of strategic value,(how ties to objectives), customer commitments, and optimizing return around time and effort to complete. e.g. Giving priority to those actions that yield the highest benefit, in the shortest time with the least resource. Assign the active list until capacity is full using the highest priority from the backlog.
