-[Abstract] 0bjective ToevaluatethevalueofMRspectroscopyinthedifferentialdiagnosisofprostatecancerandtoincip—
ientlydeterminethediagnosticcriteriaofprostatecancerinChinausingMRS．Methods Twenty—onecasesofprostatecancer
and23casesofBPH allprovedbypathologyofoperationorsystemicbiopsyand17casesofnormalvolunteerwerequantita—
tivelyassessedonapersextant(region)byMRS．Thelocationsofprostatecancerweremarkedbythesurgeonandenrolled
inaregion．Thecorrespondingratiosof(Cho+Cre)／CitwerecalculatedonthebasisoftheMRSmetabolicmap．Thediag—
nosticaccuracyofMRSforprostatecancerwascalculated．Results Theaverageratiosof(Cho+Cre)／Citintheperipheral
zoneofnormalprostate，cancerousandnoncancerousregionswere0．42±0．19，2．13±0．82and0．60±0．20，respectively．
Takingthehighlimitofnormalvariance( +3SD)asdiagnosticthreshold，thatis，theareaswith(Cho+Cre)／Cit~0．99
beconsideredasprostatecancer，thediagnosticsensitivity，specificityandaccuracywas96．0 ，94．7 and95．1 ，re—
spectively．Takingthepreviouslyreportedcriteriaasdiagnosticthreshold，thatis，theareaswith(Cho+Cre)／Cit~0．86be
consideredasprostatecancer，thediagnosticsensitivity，specificityandaccuracywas97．3 ，86．3 and89．4 ，respec—
tively．Therewasnostatisticallydifferencebetween thesensitivity ( = 0．207，P一 0．649)，buttherewerestatistically
differencesbetweenthespecificity (X =4．563，P=0．005)andaccuracy(X 一5．950，P一0．015)．Conclusion Theratioof
(Cho+Cre)／CitO．99isapref
