III An Analysis on Social Accountability International’s Role in the Governance Mechanism on International Labor Rights Issues Abstract This thesis aims to analyze the Social Accountability InternationalSAI ’s role in the governance mechanism on international labor rights issues in the context of globalization. Nowadays, in the course of international production and trade, labor rights has become a global issue. On the basis of review on the international labor rights’ situation in the current global economic system, this thesis analyses how SAI participates in the international labor rights legislation and the corresponding monitoring on the implementation of these norms, and the interaction between SAI and its partners sharing responsibility and interests on the international labor rights issues. This thesis draws a conclusion that the international non-governmental organizations, such as SAI, play a special and constructive role in the governance mechanism on the international labor rights issues.
