Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Chengdu 610066, China) Abstract: A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method combined with dispersive extraction was established for determination of 6 limited materials in cosmetics. The wheat bran was used to decentralize the sample and the preservative and anti-oxidant were ultrasonically extracted with a mixture of acetonitrile and acetone (50:50, V/V). The extracts were separated by gradient elution with mixtures of methanol and ammonium acetate solution(pH=3.5) mixed in various ratios on reversed-phase Inertsil ODS-sp C18 column (4.6mm×250mm, 5μm) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1. Detected at the wavelength of 280 nm by diode array detector as the temperature was hold at 40℃. The preservative and anti-oxidant have good linearity in the range of 0.2～.0μg·mL-1, the correlation coefficients were all above 0.9995 and the detection limits of 6 limited materials were 0.004～0.0 mg·kg-1 (S/N=3). With the addition from 10.0 to 50.0 mg·kg-1 of standard to samples, the average recovery rates were between 85.34% and 113.34%. The relative standard deviations (RSDs) of spiked samples varied from 1.07% to 6.86% (n=5).
