In order to improve the success rate of cancer chemotherapy, it is important to research the function and transport mechanism of multi-drug resistance-associated protein and find high-performance inhibitors of MDR protein. BCRP/ABCG2 is a multi-drug resistance associated protein, which plays a significant role in the process of MDR of breast cancer. In this article we reviewed the research progress on structure characteristics and physiological functions of BCRP/ABCG2 protein, as well as its role in MDR and inhibi- tors.
