JournalofAgriculturalScienceandTechnologyB4(2014)464-475 Earliertitle：JournalofAgriculturalScienceandTechnology，ISSN 1939-l250 IdentificationofBloodSerum LipidCompositions Isolatedfrom DiabeticPatientsm TypellTreatedwith PolyherbsbyCapillaryGasChromatography NahidaSaeedAl—Chalabi DepartmentofChemistry,CollegeofEducation，UniversityofMosul,Mosul41002，lraq Received：January22，2014／Published：June20，2014 Abstract：This study included treatmentofdiabeticpatients— pe I1with apolyherbscontaining Nigella sativa，Trigonell foenum-graceum，Cyperusrotundus，Teucriumpoliumdividedintotwogroups，firstgroupwastakenherbswithchemicaltreatment (drugs)andtheothergroupwhichusedherbsonly．Thesergoupswerecomparedwithhealthypersonsasacontrolgroup．Separation ofthelipidcomponentcontainingintheseurm ofwt ogroupsunderstudyfordiabetesmellituspatient— typeIIbeforeandafter treatmentwith polyherbsby patientswereperofrmed．Theseparationofthecomponentsofdifferentkindsoflipidpartslike cholesterolester(CE)，triglycerideandphospholipids，inthebloodusingthinlayerchromatorgaphy(TLC)andcapillary gas chromatographyfCGC1．Theresultsofthisstudy forestercholesterolpartofseurm patientsshow thattherewasasignificant increaseinthepercentageofsaturatedfattyacid(SFA)andmonounsaturatedfattyacidfMUFA)beofrethetreatmentofhtetwo rgoupscomparedtothecontrolgroupandasignificantdecreasewasobservedinthepercentageofthesefattyacidafterthetreatment by polyherbalmixturethanthepercentagebeforetreatment．Also．hteresultsforthesamepartofestercholestero1serum were showedasignificantdecreaseinpercentageofpolyunsaturatedfattyacid(PUFA)inthewtogroupsofdiabetesmellituspatientsin comparisonwiththecontrolgroupandtherewereasignificantincreaseobserved inPUFA percentageafterthetreatment．For triglyceridepartinserum lipid．hteresultsofthisstudywereshownthattherewasasignificantincreaseinpercentageofSFA and PUFA beforetreatmentincomparisonwithcontrolgroupandaftertreatmentforthreemonthsofthetwogroupsofpatients，showsa significantd
