An integrated scientific cogn ition must be the com b ination of the e ploration and creativity of the scien tific cognition subject and the fle ib le use of scien tificm ethod, wherein the scientificm ethod is especially mi portant. W ithout the guidance of scientificm ethodol- ogy, the real scientific developm ent is mi poss ible. The content of the teaching of/ research m ethod0 of inform ation science in Ch ina and abroad are d ifferent. M ost foreign countries concentrate the content of the teaching of / research method0 , while dom estic education circles basically d istribute the content of the teach ing of / research m ethod0 to various courses and teaching links, their difference calls for deep thought. This paper attempts to discuss the con- cen trative and disperse phenom enon of curricu lum provision from three aspects, that is, the d ifferen t h istorical view on m ethodology at hom e and abroad, the com prehensive subject attribute of in form ation science and the deficiencies of the research m ethod of inform ation science.
