The exp re ssion of nestin in retinal glial cells secondary to hyp erten tion and its sign ificance are unclear. 　 O bjective　Th is study aim to inve stigate the exp re ssion of ne stin in retinal glial cells ( R GC s) in ocu lar hyp erten tion rats. 　 M ethod s　The ocu lar hyp ertention models were e stab lished by cau terizing the lim bu sdrain ing vein s in the right eye s of 42 SD rats, and a conjunctival incision in the left eyes of the rats served a s the sham group. The in traocu lar p re ssure ( IOP ) wa s m easu red w ith the TonoPen XL tonom eter. The number of R GC s in the rats w ith ocu lar hyp ertention was counted. The exp re ssion of the ne stin p rotein in R GC swa s sem iquan titatively analyzed u singW e stern b lot, and the induction of the exp re ssion of nestin in M üller cells wa s detected by imm unochem istry. Doub le immunofluorescence was carried out to evaluate the exp re ssion of ne stin / GS or nestin / GFA P in the foot p late of M üller cells
