College of Grassland and E nvironmental Sciences, X inj iang g riculture University , Ur umchi 830052, China) Abstract: This study w as analyzed landscape classification in Kashi River by the classification method of landscape ecology and remote sensing. The results show ed that the landscape dominance of mountainous region is larg er than that of oasis landscape in the Kashi River basin; in w hich, landscape dominance of m ountain meadow is first, and mountain w oodland landscape second. For oasis landscape, landscape of farmland and w ater area is of the highest dominance, w ith river valley m eadow and woodland landscape follow s. M ountain prairie and mountain m eadow landscape are dom inant landscape in w hole Kashi river basin . Mountain landscape is also dominant landscape in upper r eaches of Kashi River, landscape dom i nance of mountain m eadow is also most apparently, the second is mountain woodland and mountain bare rocks landscape. In a w ord, this kind of landscape cover ed by vegetation takes absolute dom inant landscape in the w hole basin of Kashi River,
