Skopo s theory is an approach to translation wh ich w as deve loped in G erm any in the late 1970s. t determ ines the transla tion
stra teg ies to be adopted. T he transla tion resea rch fie ld has been g reatly w idened as Skopos theory introduced transla tion resea rch
into a m echanism of c ross-cultura l comm un ica tion, instead of the forme r narrow fram ework of source and target languages. T h is
thesis endeavors to d iscuss the translation of bus iness tex t from the perspective of Skopos theory in orde r to supp ly som e reference
to the study of business transla tion.
