Orthopedic Instit te , Research Instit te of CTM, Beji ing 100700 Abstract Ob ective: To introduce the treatment of complicated malleolar fracture- dislocation w ith the improved Ilizarov f ixator. Method: Tw enty- four patients with complicated malleolar fracture-dislocation were treated by manual reduction and f ixed w ith the improved Ilizarov fixator through closed pin penetration. Result : In the group , 12 were excellent , 10 good and 2 poor. The total percentage of good clinical results w as 91. 67 % . The average healing time w ere 7. 5 weeks ( from 6 to 8. 5 w eeks) . Conclusion : Treating complex malle- olar fracture w ith improved Ilizarov fixator is an effective method and applying the Olive Stop Wires is a new optional way to treat the dis- truption of the tibio-f ibular oint .
