Abstract! Objective T o stud the expression and significance of NM23H 1 and MUC1 gene in
th oid carcinoma. Methods W ith quent itative RTPCR and image scamming quantificat ion anal sis
s stem, the expression levels of NM23H 1 and MUC1 were detected in 60 samples of th roid
carcinoma. esults The positive rate of MUC1 in 60 specimens of t h roid carcinoma was 750% ,
which was 706% ( 24/ 34) in those without metastasis and 808% ( 2 1/ 26) in those w ith met astasis
( P 005) . T he positive rate of NM23H 1 in 60 specimens of th roid carcinoma was 633%( 38/ 60) ,
which was 735% ( 25/ 34) in those without metastasis and 500% ( 13/ 26) in those w ith met astasis
( P 00 1) . Conclusion Detection of expression levels of NM23H 1 and MUC1 ma be helpful in
evaluating the metastasis of t h roid carcinoma. There ma be an int ernal correlation bet ween low er
expression of NM23H 1 and higher expression of MU C1 in the metastasis of th roid cancer.
