ON SCIENCE TEACHERS’RESEARCH AND PRACTICE OF THE ENVIRCINMENTAL EDUCATION ABSTRACT Environmental pollution,ecological destruction and over-exploration of resources have seriously endangered the human being’s survival and development.Protecting environment and leading sustainable development has become the whole mankind’s common pursuit.According to“Agenda 2 1”, education is of great importance to promote sustainable development and raise the ability of resolving the environmental problems and development.In the new curriculum of compulsory education,the awareness of environmental protection which meets the call of our time has become one of the important curriculum goals.Therefore,if we are to enhance people’S environmental consciousness, help them become aware of the importance of environments and environmental problems,and harmonize the relationship between mankind and his environments SO as to have sustainable development for mankind,we believe that the environmental education must be strengthened.On the basis of analyzing the history of environmental education,the thesis mainly discusses the strategies for implementing the environmental education in science teaching, hoping to realize the educational goal of“For the environment”by means of‘‘In the environment’besides helping the smdents master their basic knowledge skills,that is,the paper aims to help smdents to develop comprehensive environmental awareness such as knowledge,skills,methods,emotion,attitudes Ⅱ and values etc,thus realizing the vision made in the new curriculum outline Based on the science teachers’research and practice of the environmental education,this paper has summarized the developments and theoretical researches of the environmental education home and abroad.Meanwhile,an overall recognition concerning the relevant concepts,aims,contents and forms of the environmental education is formed,which then contributes to the theoretical basis of research and practice on environmental education in s
