Natural disasters are caused by forces of nature. Earthquake, floods, volcanic eruption, wild fires and drought are natural disasters that are beyond the control of humans, while plane crashes, traffic accidents, shipwrecks , terrorist attacks, nuclear leak, fires and wars belong to man-made disasters. Natural disasters like earthquakes or floods may claim hundreds of thousands of lives and leave thousands of people homeless. The Disasters destroy natural resources, homes and other structures, and very often harm or kill people. 4. What are the chances of survival in an accident / a disaster? Chances of survival in a ….are almost zero / very little. The damage was great, but fortunately no one was injured. 5. What caused the accidents? Sometimes accidents or even disasters happen due to human faults. Car accidents are often caused by drivers who are drunk / try to overtake without warning.
