House Rules The house rules regulate how all residents can peacefully live together. Our golden rule is: Treat others as you want to be treated. Noise Quiet hours are from 22:00 until 8.00 hours. Do NOT play loud music or make noise in the hallways during this time. No basketball to be played after 22:00 hours. Security All outside doors should be locked between 22:00 and 8.00 hours. Keep your room door locked when you are not in it. Hallways, stairs and entrances must be kept clear of bicycles and other objects. Grilling is only allowed outside on the Campus in the appropriate ‘grill area.’ Inform the building custodian/caretaker immediately if any problems with water, heating or electricity arise. Windows Close all windows in the classrooms and activity rooms when not in use. Open the windows in your room and bathroom every morning and evening at least for 10 minutes or more. This is to prevent mould occurring in the bathroom and to air out your room!! Cleaning and Garbage Clean up after yourself!! You must keep the bathrooms and toilets clean in your rooms. DO NOT throw food or kitchen waste into the sink or shower, as well as hair, tampons/sanitary towels in the toilets, as they will become blocked and will overflow!!! Your rooms must be cleaned at least once a week. The rooms must be tidied up (before the cleaning staffs come if appropriate) and everything must be off the floor. The rooms will be checked regularly by the Administration staff or Hiwis!!! All the room garbage should be taken out to the dustbins at least once a week. All garbage must be sorted out according to German regulations. Kitchens All residents must keep the kitchens, fridges and freezers clean and tidy to avoid insects, rodents and damage to your health. (Please note the rota list for kitchen duties on the kitchen door). Kitchen garbage (when not done by the cleaning staff) should be taken out to the dustbins when full or begins to
