一、Passive Voice被动语态(一)构成1.英语动词有主动和被动两种语态。主动语态表示主语是动作的执行者;被动语态表示主语是动作的承受者。
被动语态由“be+过去分词“构成。例如:
He wrote the letter.
The letter was written by him .
2.被动语态的时态变化只变化be的形式,过去分词部分不变。疑问式和否定式的变化也与be相同。
Is English spoken there? English is not spoken there.
3.带有情态动词的被动语态:情态动词+be+过去分词
It must be done.
4.带有不定式的被动语态:to be+过去分词
What is to be done next?(二)用法不知道谁是动作执行者
His bike has been stolen.
没有必要或不想指出谁是动作执行者
China was liberated in 1949.
?强调或突出动作的承受者
The plan has already been made.
用被动语态时,如需同时指出动作的执行者,可用“介词by+动作执行者”
This picture can’t have been drawn by him .
被动语态的各种时态 be + p.p.1.一般现在时 : am / is / are + p.p.
English is spoken all over the world. by us
2.一般过去时: was / were + p.p.
TVU English Course Book I was taught last semester.
3.一般将来时: will / shall + be + p.p. be going to + be + p.p.
The exams will be changed in the future.
You are going to be asked to do exercises in two weeks.
4.现在进行时: be am / is / are + being + p.p.
Unit Five is being discussed now.
5.现在完成时: have / has +been + p.p.
Unit Four has just been finished.
6.情态动词: must / can / may + be + p.p.
English must be learned well for the youth.
This can be done in time.
You may be told about it when you get there.
7.动词不定式: to be + p.p.
I am glad to be asked to give lessons in this classroom.
We are glad to be allowed to have lessons in this classroom,
役使或感官动词后面的不定式不带to,但如果此类动词变为被动语态,则应加上to。
We saw them go out.
They were seen to go out.一般过去时被动语态由“主语(动作承受者)+ be 动词的过去式(was/were) + 过去分词( by + 施动者)”构成。
例如:
She was seen first by the local doctors. 最初是当地医生给她看的病。
?在很多情况下, 被动语态的句子不需加 by + 施动者。例如:
She was sent to a specialist in Cardiff. 她被送到加的夫的一位专家那里。
She was diagnosed as diabetic. 她被诊断患有糖尿病。
Change the following into Passive Voice:
1.The workers made the machine in 1999.
2.I gave him a ball-pen.
3.They told her to hurry up.
4.We found him writing a poem in the reading room.
5.They said that the conference was very succes
