REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS – PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WEST BLOOMFIELD PARK RECREATION COMMISSION 4640 Walnut Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI 48323 2015 ADA Park Improvement Project REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The West Bloomfield Parks Recreation (WBPRC) Commission is requesting proposals from professional consultants to develop design standards, develop construction and bid documents, oversee the bidding process for construction services, and provide construction engineering and inspection for improvements on the West Bloomfield Trail. The improvement project is to remove architectural barriers at the road crossings along the trail and provide ADA Accessible concrete ramps at each intersection. Further, the consultant shall be responsible for compliance with as well as maintaining and filing all necessary practices and paperwork to maintain compliance with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) regulations. Respondents to this proposal should be experts in legal and design standards of the ADA Federal Register and all amendments and appendixes. The selected consultant will work with staff and the Commission to perform the tasks outlined above. Work outlined in this proposal is being funded with Community Development Block Grants Funds. HISTORY The West Bloomfield Park and Recreation Commission was established in 1970 and is supported by four renewable tax levies. The existing park facilities and programs generate additional revenues through park fees and charges. Currently the park system operates 12 township-wide parks that comprise over 500 acres of natural and developed land. A copy of the selected park project to be designed from the Assessment summary is attached. SELECTION PROCESS Bids will be awarded to the best service provider and best value to WBPRC based on a recommendation from the evaluation team.
