They are mostly printed, including both textual and?graphic?elements. Posters are designed to be both informative and eye-catching. They may be used for many purposes, mostly to inform people of particular events, such as academic lectures, association recruitments, competitions, movies, concerts, etc. The format for posters is flexible. With the basic information included, posters are designed artistically. Step2 Presentation A missing, lost or found notice is often written to help people to find what they have lost or to inform others what they have found. 1.What basic elements does it usually consist of? 2.What are the differences among missing, lost and found? 3.What details should be included in the three types of notices? Case 1 Read the poster and think about what points of such a poster are included, and in what way. Questions for discussion: 1.What is the purpose of writing this poster? ____________________________________________________________ 2.What is the function of the sentence “We would like to hear from you!”? ____________________________________________________________ 3.What are the basic elements included in this kind of poster? ____________________________________________________________ 4.Can you figure out what is the full name for the abbreviation LINC? ________________________________
