状语从句 一、概说：状语从句主要用来修饰主句的谓语。一般可分为九大类，分别表示时间、地点、原因、目的、结果、条件、让步、比较和方式。状语从句的关键是要掌握引导不同状语从句的常用连接词和特殊的连接词。 时间状语从句常用引导词：when, as, while, before, after, since , till, untilas soon as,特殊引导词：the minute, the moment, the second, the instant, immediately , directly, no sooner … than, hardly scarcely)…when, every（each）time, next time, the first time 1. when ,while ,as 的用法： when 意为“当/在……时，每当”； while意为“在……期间”，从句的谓语必须是延续性动词； as意为“一边……一边……，随着”，动词通常为动作动词。如：He transplanted the little tree to the garden _______it was the best time for it . A. where B. when C. that D. until 2. before 的用法： before的本意为“在……之前”，根据具体语境还可理解为“还没来得及/还没有……就……，……才……”等。We had sailed four days and four nights before we saw land.
