从文化层面探究英语习语翻译策略 A Study on Translation Strategies of English Idioms from Cultural Perspective 姓名: 专业: 班级: 导师: 日期: 年 月 日 摘要 习语是一个民族经过长时间使用而提炼出来的固定短语或短句,是本民族文化的精华。学习英语习语是英语学习中不可缺少的重要组成部分。正确掌握英语习语的含义并能运用自如,将对英语学习大大提升。为了更好地学习英语、掌握英语国家文化,作者从六个不同文化来源的角度,将英语习语分为六类,即:来源于历史发展、地理环境、风俗习惯、宗教信仰、寓言神话和文学巨作,并运用翻译习语的三个基本方法,即:直译法、套用法和意译法,分别对不同来源的习语加以分析,最终总结出各类习语在翻译时较常运用哪种翻译方法,以使读者更准确、更容易地理解原文及内涵。作者力求通过此篇论述,起抛砖引玉之作用,引起更多翻译学者、专家从文化层面对习语的翻译方法作更多探究。 关键词:英语习语,翻译策略,文化层面 Abstract Idiom is a fixed phrase or short sentence being used for a long time by a nation. It is the reflection to the development of society and culture. It is also the cream of the nation and its culture. English idiom learning is an indispensable and important part of English learning. If translator can grasp correctly the meaning of idiom and use them freely, it will be an advance of language learning and translating. Generally speaking, the English idioms are mainly classified by from history, from geography, from custom, from religion, from fables and from classic English literature. By the three translation strategies of English idioms, i.e. translating literally, using ready Chinese idioms, and translating non-literally, the author analysed the English idioms which classified by six aspects of cultural perspective mentioned above. The result of the research is to show how to handle with the different kinds of idioms by different tranlation strategies generally. The paper aims to draw more attention to the deeper research on the translation strategy of English idioms from cultural view. Key words: English idiom, translation strategy, cultural perspective.
