Elections of healthy Wistar rats were randomly divided into control group (Sham), burn group (resulting in 40% TBSA Ⅲ ° burn), and burn plus taurine group (injected intraperitoneally immediately after burn Taurine 200mg/kg). Results burn injury in rats after 6h, 12h and 24h myocardial apoptosis index were 7.31 ± 2.31,21.52 ± 2.57 and 18.67 ± 2.48, compared with the control group (0.92 ± 0.34) were significantly increased, Fas protein expression index respectively, 13.51 ± 1.56,21.02 ± 2.34 and 14.55 ± 1.89, also significantly higher (2.46 ± 0.75); Caspase-3 activity were 1.38 ± 0.16,2.18 ± 0.18 and 1.96 ± 0.71, compared with the control group (0.35 ± 0.06) difference was significant. Taurine protection group after injury 6h, 12h and 24h myocardial apoptosis index, Fas protein expression and Caspase-3 activity in different degrees compared with burn group were lower (P amp;lt;0.05). Burn myocardial apoptosis index and Fas expression in a good correlation (r = 0.86, P amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion of taurine on Fas-mediated apoptosis in rat cardiac myocytes after burn better in vivo.
