Methods Twenty-four children with obstructive neonatal hepatitis were operated with biliary irrigation. It were studied that the injury of liver and extrahepatic biliary duct and the results after irrigated by inserting a duct into gallbladder. Results It was observed that clinical signs of biliary obstruction. We found serious injury and stenotic bile duct in some patients’ biliary system with obstructive neonatal hepatitis, and mucoid and filamentous bile thrombuses in common bile duct in nine cases. Conclusion The injury of extrahepatic biliary duct is equal to damage of live in children with obstructive neonatal hepatitis. We have to make the bile juice transport smoothly with bile duct rinsing or irrigation by gallbladder catheter during protecting liver function and make the patients recovery.
