Neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy retinol binding protein Changes
[Abstract] Objective To study the different severity of neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) in children with urinary retinol binding protein (RBP) the changes of RBP in the assessment of HIE’s role in children with the disease. Methods 130 cases of mild HIE patients were divided into 48 cases according to the disease, 57 patients with moderate and severe in 25 cases, 50 cases of children selected as the normal full-term control group, were born after 1d, 3d, 5d, 7d measured in urine specimens from RBP to compare the two. Results HIE group than in the control group increased urinary RBP, with the increasing severity of the difference between the two was significant (P lt;0.05). mild HIE section 1d RBP increased significantly in children, with the control group There was significant difference (P lt;0.05), the first 3d to 7d gradually decreased with no significant difference between the control group (Pgt; 0.05). and children with moderate to severe HIE section 3d to 7d change is not obvious. Urine HIE RBP and a positive correlation between the disease (r = 0.846, P = 0.000). Conclusions The urinary RBP HIE patients as an effective indicator of disease assessment.

Urinary RBP level was measured in 50 normal term infants as control group and in 130 patients with HIE at 1,3,5,7 days after birth. We compared the changes between HIE group and control group. Results Urinary RBP level was higher in HIE group than control group.
