Methods of olanzapine and risperidone in 48 patients with schizophrenia were treated for 6 weeks, the use of positive and negative Symptoms Scale (PANSS), Brief Psychiatric Rating Scale (BPRS), Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI-S) to assess the clinical adverse side effects was assessed using Scale (TESS) assessment. Results olanzapine group was 87.5 %, efficiency 95.8%; risperidone group was 83.3%, efficiency 91.6%, a considerable two groups, the difference was not significant (Pgt; 0.05). olanzapine main side effect was sleepiness, mild anti-bile base effects, risperidone is the main adverse extrapyramidal symptoms. Conclusions of olanzapine and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia patient outcomes equivalent to less adverse effects of olanzapine, good security. [Keywords:] olanzapine; schizophrenia; risperidone; effect; safety [Abstract] Objective To study the clinical affects and effects of olanzapine and risperidone in the treatment of schizophrenia.Methods 48 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into olanzapine (24 patients) and risperidone (24 patinets) group, all the patients were measured in the clinical affects with PANSS, BPRS, CGI-S and effects with TESS for six weeks.Results The remission and response rate of olanzapine group were 87.5%, 95.8% while that of risperidone group were 83.3%, 91.6%. Each couple of results had no statistic differences between two groups (Pgt; 0.05). The main adverse reactions of olanzapine were drowsiness, antisinkoline, that of risperidone was extrapyramidal symptoms.Conclusion The clinical effects of olanzapine were similar to risperidone, olanzapine had less side effects than risperidone and better safety in the treatment of schizophrenia.
