Genus Paris consist of 26 species, of which 20 species distribut around China. Sichuan and Yunnan provinces of which, southern section of Hengduan Mountains are the central area is the geographic distribution center of Genus Paris in Asian-Europe continent and the traditional producing area of material medica of Rhizoma Paridis. Field survey on the germplasm, utilization and endangered status of Genus Paris were carried out in this research. Quality of 50 samples of material medica of Rhizoma Paridis from this area was evaluated according to the standard from China pharmacopoeia section .
