 PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT 18 Sacral fracture with nerve injury diagnosis and treatment of Abstract [Objective] To sum up sacral fracture with sacral nerve injury diagnosis and treatment. [Methods] from 1999 to 2004 treated patients with sacral fracture with neurological injury in 12 cases, 9 males and 3 females. All patients after detailed physical examination and X-ray film, CT, MRI scanning was diagnosed. Denis imaging data based on sub-type: Ⅰ type 2 cases, Ⅱ type 6 cases, Ⅲ type in 4 cases. Different type take the appropriate treatment: Ⅰ, Ⅱ fracture of conservative treatment such as pelvic traction first observed 4 to 6 weeks, if the symptoms were not significantly changed to improve the surgical treatment; Ⅲ fracture by posterior sacral decompression as soon as possible nerve root exploration lysis surgery; old Ⅱ, Ⅲ fracture performance of nerve injury as long as there is still advocate surgery. A total of 7 cases of conservative treatment, surgical treatment in 5 cases. [Results] 12 patients after 6 months to 3 years of follow-up, 2 cases of type Ⅰ fracture, 6 cases of type Ⅱ fracture patients fully recovered. 4 cases of type Ⅲ fracture patients, 1 case fully restored, and two cases of significant improvement in 1 case a slight recovery. [Conclusion] The location of hidden sacral fracture, nerve damage caused by the symptoms was not obvious, clinical easily missed, take further tests in conjunction with imaging studies to improve the diagnosis rate.
