Methods Retrospective analysis of 56 cases confirmed by pathologic diagnosis of appendicitis clinical schistosomiasis. Results of 40 patients over the age of higher incidence of schistosomiasis appendicitis, the removal of the appendix mucosa specimens were visible under the deposition of schistosome eggs, except 1 patient two suture cured, the remaining patients were discharged healed. Conclusion The clinical manifestations of schistosomiasis appendicitis appendicitis in general no significant difference between the preoperative diagnosis is difficult , to be confirmed by pathology after surgery. For the history of epidemic and infectious water living history of exposure to patients with abdominal pain should take into account the possibility of this disease. Methods The information of surgical treatment was analyzed retrospectively in 56 cases of schistosomal appendicitis. All cases were confirmed by pathologic diagnosis. Results The highest incidence of schistosomal appendicitis was recorded after 40 years age. Ova were seen in the submucosal layers of all the excised appendices. All cases healed after primary suture except one. Conclusion There is no obviously difference between the schistosomal appendicitis and general appendicitis in clinical presentation. It is difficult to diagnose preparation . All cases need to be confirmed by pathologic diagnosis. The schistosomal appendicitis should be considered if the patient has history of epidemic area of infectious disease to dwell or contact.
