In animals treatedwithEDPthevolumeofboth,PRLcellsandtheirnuclei,aswell asthevolumedensitiesweresignificantly(p0.05) increasedby17%, 9%and38%,respectively,incomparisonwiththecontrols.Inanimals treated with Ca all morphometric parameters were insignificantly (p0.05)decreasedcomparedtocontrolrats.Serumconcentrationof PRL was significantly increased (p0.05) by 17% after estradiol treatment,butinCa-treatedfemalesthisparameterwasinsignificantly (p0.05) changed by 2% compared to controls. Based on these results,itcanbeconcludedthatEDPexpressesastrongstimulatory effectonthemorphologyandfunctionofpituitaryPRLcells.
