Objectives.The ?420C Gpolymorphismlocatedintheresistingene(RETN)promoterhasrecentlybeensuggestedtoplay apotentialroleinproin?ammatoryconditionsandcardiovasculardisease.ThisstudyinvestigatedtheassociationoftheRETN promoterpolymorphismwithKawasakidisease(KD)anditsclinicalparametersinChinesechildren. Methods.Wecompared patientswithcompleteKDtoincompleteKDchildren.GenotypingoftheRETNpromoterpolymorphismwasperformedusing MassARRAYsystem,andserumresistinlevelswereestimatedusingthesandwichenzymeimmunoassaymethod.Results .There wasnosigni?cantdi?erenceinRETN(?420CG)genotypesbetweenKDandcontrolgroups.However,thefrequencyofthe GallelewashigheriniKDpatientsthanincKDchildrenduetoasigni?cantlyincreasedfrequencyoftheGGgenotypes.Serum levelsofresistinweresigni?cantlyhigherinKDpatientsthanincontrolsregardlessofthepresenceofcoronaryarterylesions (CALs).Conclusion.Thepresent?ndingssuggestthatwhileresistinmayplayaroleinthepathogenesisofKD,thereisnoapparent associationbetweenCALandtheRETN(?420C G)genepolymorphisminKDchildren.However
