Behcet’sdisease(BD)isachronicdiseasewhichischaracterizedbyrecurrentoralapthousulcerations,recurrentgenitalulcera- tions,skineruptions,ocularinvolvementsandothervarioussystemicmanifestationsaswellassystemicvasculitis.Endocrine involvementinBDregardingvarioussystemscanbeseen.Hypophysisisoneofthebestanddensevascularizedorgansofthe body,thusitislikelythatitcanbea?ectedbyBD.Notonlyanteriorhypophysisfunctions,butposteriorhypophysisfunctionsas wellcanbea?ected.AsBDisadiseaseofautoimmuneprocess,itmaybepossiblethatadrenalinsu?ciencyoralterationsinthe cortisollevelscouldbeexpected.AnotherconcerniswhetherornotthereisinsulinresistanceinpatientswithBD.Theavaliable datasuggeststhatthereisanincreasedsusceptibilitytoinsulinresistanceinpatientswithBD. 1.Introduction foundthatthyroidfunctiontestswerewithinnormalrange inpatientswithBD;however,theydidnotassesstheTRH- stimulated TSH levels [4].
