Threelipase-producingthermophilicbacteria(AK-P1,AK-P2,andAK-P3)wereisolatedfromtheTaptapanihotwaterspringin Orissa,India.Thecrudeextracellularlipasesfromcell-freeculturesupernatantwerereactedinanoliveoilmixture,andtheir lipolyticactivitieswerecompared.Identi?cationofthebacteria wascarriedoutusingbiochemicaltests,16SrRNAsequencing andsequences submittedtoNCBIGenBank.StrainAK-P3,exhibited thehighestlipolytic activity of5.5U/mLwasidenti?ed as Porphyrobacter sp. The lipolytic activities of strains AK-P1 andAK-P 2 were 4.5U/mL and 3.5U/mL, respectively. Strains AK-P1andAK-P2wereidenti?edasAcinetobactersp.andBrevibacillusspp.TheGenBankaccessionnumbersofthe16SrRNA genesequencesdeterminedinthisstudyforthestrainsAK-P1,AK-P2,andAK-P3areHM359120,HM359119,andHM359118, respectively. 1.Introduction thermophilic prokaryotes (Archaea and Eubacteria) adopt di?erentstrategieslikeGC-richcodons,theratioofcharged amino acids compared to uncharged amino acids, ionic interactions,aminoacidpreferencesandtheirdistribution, posttranslational modi?cations, and solute accumulation [3].
