Exopolysaccharides(EPS)andinternal(intracellular)polysaccharides(IPS)obtainedfromthe PleurotusostreatusM2191and PBS281009 cultivated using the batch system revealed an average of between 0.1–2 (EPS) and 0.07–1.5g/L/day (IPS). The carbohydrateanalysisrevealedthatthepolysaccharidescomprised87–89%EPSand68–74%IPS.Theinvestigationofantioxidant activityinvitrorevealedagoodantioxidantpotential,particularlyfortheIPSandEPSisolatedfromPBS281009,asprovedbythe EC50valueforDPPH,ABTSscavengingactivity,reducingpower,andironchelatingactivity. 1.Introduction The polysaccharides found in mushrooms belonging to the genus Pleurotus have revealed important biological activities.Productionofthemyceliumbiomassandpolysac- charides (exopolysaccharides and internal polysaccharides) byP.ostreatus,insubmergedculture,dependsonthestrains used, growth parameters, growth rhythm, as well as their nutritionalrequirements.Generally,researchisfocusedon optimizingtheculturemediuminbioreactorcultivation,to maximizetheproductivityofthemyceliumandproduction ofpolysaccharide[6].Thepresentinvestigationwasaimed atrevealingthemyceliumproduction,inbatchsystem,from P.ostreatus M21
