Atherosclerosisisacceleratedinrheumatoidarthritis(RA)andpsoriaticarthritis(PsA).Weinvestigatedapossibleassociation ofoxidizedlow-densitylipoproteins(ox-LDLs),nitricoxide(NO),3-nitrotyrosine,vitaminA,vitaminE,andβ-caroteneserum levelswithsubclinicalatherosclerosisinRAandPsA.BytheuseofELISA,weobservedhigherox-LDLlevelsinpatientswith intima-mediathickness(IMT)1thaninpatientswithIMT≤1andanegativecorrelationbetweenNOlevelsandIMTvalues. Bytheuseofhigh-performanceliquidchromatography,wedeterminedhigherlevelsofvitaminAinpatientswithPsAandIMT ≤1thanincontrolsandlowerlevelsofβ-caroteneinpatientswithRAandPsAthanincontrols.β-caroteneconcentrationswere negativelycorrel
