Hemodialysis and pharmacological treatment were unsuccessful in controlling secondary hyperparathyroidism makingitnecessarytoproceedwithasubtotalparathyroidectomy.Thepropertimingoftheparathyroidectomyanditsfavourable e?ectonregressionofthebrowntumormadeitpossibletoavoidapotentiallydis?guringsurgicalremovalofthebrowntumor.
